The Message of Sikhism, Advaita Vedanta, and Sam Altman Is One (EP-38)
It's just three words- 'we' are 'one'
First of all, accept my apologies for sending you a newsletter so late. I hope you have turned your email notifications off or your phone is in Silent mode!
Now, onto this week’s newsletter.
I got a WhatsApp message from my spiritual friend, let’s call him ‘Bunker’. It was this!
Sam Altman said it long ago. Almost two years ago.
But someone said ‘it’, the message, thousands of years ago.
Sikhism in three words
‘Ik Onkar Satnaam’
The literal meaning is there is one true name (Satnaam) and that is ‘Om’ (Onkar).
My understanding (so far) and commentary is that there is one true God or supreme reality: no separation, no division, no boundaries.
‘It’ is all one!
Advaita Vedanta in three words
‘Sat Chit Anand’
The literal meaning is one that is true, consciousness, joy.
And literal meaning of Advaita Vedanta is non-dual Vedanta. The literal meaning of Vedanta is the end of Vedas, where the Upanishads start.
My understanding (so far) and commentary is that Advaita Vedanta is also trying to convey the same message. That there is no ‘God’ vs ‘Soul’ Or ‘Human’ vs ‘Divine’ Or ‘Us’ vs ‘Them’.
We are all one!
Now it’s pointless to debate who said it first.
Because how does being the oldest ‘truth’ speaker make any difference to the message? More focus should be given to the message and not who said it and when.
Guru Nanak Dev, founder of Sikhism, and proponent of Advaita Vedanta will be happier if we grasp their message and ‘experience’ the unity.
Agreed?
